My passion for maternity and newborn photography developed from a deep appreciation for the beauty and significance of these fleeting moments in a woman’s life. The incredible journey of pregnancy and the arrival of a newborn are profound and transformative experiences. Being able to capture and preserve these precious moments through photography allows me to contribute to the storytelling of a family’s journey, creating lasting memories that can be cherished for generations.
2. What are some key factors you consider when planning and executing a maternity or newborn photoshoot to ensure the comfort and safety of both the mother and baby?
When planning and executing a maternity or newborn photoshoot, the comfort and safety of both the mother and baby are my utmost priorities. Here are some key factors I consider: a. Communication: I maintain open and clear communication with the expectant mother or parents prior to the shoot to understand their vision, preferences, and any specific concerns they may have.
b. Timing: For maternity shoots, I schedule the session during the mother’s second trimester when she’s likely to feel more comfortable and have a visible baby bump. For newborn shoots, I aim to capture those precious early days within the first two weeks when babies are generally sleepier and more easily posed.
c. Safety precautions:I am well-versed in newborn safety protocols and ensure that the environment is clean, sanitized, and free from any hazards. I work patiently and gently, prioritizing the comfort and safety of the baby at all times. However, as the session progressed, I observed a beautiful transformation. The toddler’s curiosity and fascination grew, and they started interacting and bonding with their new sibling in front of the camera. It was a magical moment that captured the beginnings of a lifelong bond. Witnessing such authentic connections and being able to preserve them through photographs is incredibly touching and fulfilling.
